I've decided that Every month I will be putting on my Cards of the Month, or at least I'll try. I usually have to make a few cards every month and thought it would nice if you guys all got to see my creative genius!😉 Lol. Truth be told, one card was not my own creative genius, but it looked so nice that I just knew that I had to make one just like it.
Watercolor Butterfly Card
This is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen! It has rainbow colors, black butterflies and a heat embossed birthday greeting. What more could a girl ask for! This card was actually super simple to make and took hardly anytime at all. I used Canson XL Watercolor paper cut to 4.25x5.5, my watercolor set from Reeves (Michaels) and some Grumbachers Academy watercolors (Artist's Emporium). I first put some very watered down greens and blues on the card and let them dry, then laid over that the red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple for my rainbow effect.
While I let that dry I punched out three butterflies (Martha Stewart Monarch punch) from some black card stock. I folded these gently in half to make the butterflies stand up from the page a bit. I then figured out where my sentiment would go and stamped it in pigment ink by Versafine and then used clear embossing powder and heat set it. I find the black pigment ink and clear powder works better than the black embossing powder for a crisper look. Last, but not least, I glued down my butterflies and then used foam squares to adhere the watercolor panel to my card base.

Spring Card
I absolutely had no plan whatsoever going into this card and simply laid out my stamped and stamped them and heat embossed them immediately so I didn't mess up the powder. I've done that before and accidentally wiped half the powder off my words or picture. Not fun to start over. This went well and everything set properly. I just picked some spring colors at random and splashed them all over my card. After I let it dry I decided some parts weren't colourful enough and added some more color, and then used a stamp from the $1.50 bin at Michaels on the edge to make it more Springy!!! Lol.
