I have started my very first blanket project. I decided that since I can't find any blankets in the color I want, that I would just knit my own blanket. So far, so good!
I picked the colors blue and purple by accident as I just wanted to check the size of the stitches as I have never knitted with size 19 needles before and the colors looked awesome! So out I went and bought some more yarn from Michaels! You can check out their website www.michaels.ca for more knitting supplies. (Make sure you have a coupon before going in!!! Lol)
I don't really have a pattern, but this is what I'm doing and using:
Size 19 straight needles
6 skeins Lion Brand Homespun Thick & Quick, held double (super Bulky)*****
****I am only done about a foot of the blanket so far and used 3/4 of each ball, so I'm not sure if 6 is enough. I'll update when I've finished!
Pattern:
I cast on 55 stitches with the yarn held double (you really have to squeeze these on the needles, so circular needles would be better, but they didn't have any when I checked)
All rows: K1, *P1,K1*, repeat * to end of row
Continue in seed stitch until desired length. Bind off in pattern.
I'll post a picture as soon as I can. I really hope this blanket turns out. Thanks to everyone who has been reading my blog.
