Hi everyone!
Hope your week is going well. I am just about to be on vacation for a month and I am very excited! I love winter vacations, don't you! I have a family member in Hawaii right now and am very jealous! Wish I was drinking Mai Tai's on the beach, but instead I have been doing more knitting!
This week I have been doing a few things and one of those things is knitting dishcloths. Dishcloths are just so simple and relaxing and I usually do this while watching tv. Last night I was catching up on The Flash (I love this show!) and knitting away. I've done so many now that I don't really have to pay attention. At least until I get close to the middle where I switch from increasing to decreasing.
Anyway, I just thought I'd give any newbies out there some pointers on how to do the stitch K2tog, or knit 2 together. It is actually a very simple and basic stitch.

I added captions to all the pictures, but I thought I'd go over it in print one time.
You will be working with the first two stitches on your left needle. With your right needle slip the needle through the second loop on left needle and then the first loop on left needle. You should have both stitches sitting on both needles (look at first picture). Wrap your yarn around your right needle as if to knit (so under and around counterclockwise) and then knit pulling the yarn through both of these stitches. Done! Wow! That sounds way harder than it is. Just skip through first two and knit. As simple as that!
This stitch is called for in a lot of patterns as well as SSK and P2tog as these are your decreases so it does well to know how to do them. (P2tog, or Purl 2 together is exactly the same, but you are purling instead of knitting!)
I hope this helps if you are a new knitter and I hope you are enjoying your knitting journey!
